Yeah, that was pretty darned creepy. <<shudder>>
The episode that creeped me out the most was the one with the legless guy on the little cart. He’d appear and disappear, and right before he appeared you could hear the wheels on the cart squeaking. I think I’ve blanked most of that episode out of my memory, because it was so creepy. That’s number one on my list, but there are lots of others.
I need to get some X-Files DVDs!
The one episode that still scares the ever-lovin’ shit out of me when I think about it was the guy who could use his mind to make photographs of people he knew were going to die. I only saw the episode once, but I remember the photographs were creepy as hell. He also walked around on stilts, which was also creepy in its own way.
Adam
The cannibals at the chicken factory was pretty creepy.
And the Satan worshipping city council.
X didn’t really have any BOO !!! episodes (imho), but they did do some really willyfying creepiness ick in a big way. From time to time.
I remember being about 13 years old and seeing “Chinga” at 2am while everyone else in the house was asleep. Evil dolls are so creepy to me.
“Home”, definitely. Nothing has ever been creepier. Uuuugh. gets shivers just thinking about it
Thanks to you people I had an X Files dream last night.
I found the really creepy X-Files not to be the ones with weird critters or aliens but the ones that could possibly happen-the guy who controlled the weather with his mind, the one where the kid disappeared and suddenly appeared years later completely unchanged(‘Calamari’-no wait that’s squid…Calibari?something like that).I lost interest in the last couple of series.Instead of being stand alone series, it all ended up tangled up with Scully’s baby and the superhero things…you really needed to watch the whole thing for it to make sense.Bleuhh
Makes you wonder about who your fellow Dopers really are doesn’t it
The Calusari. That’s the one with the Romanian exorcism. Gave me the willies, I think I slept with the lights on for a week afterwards. Definitely my scariest X-Files ever.
I agree, that one was pretty scary, but I have to go with the one of inbred murdereds [home?]
I hated it when you had to start following along, I liked the stand alone style=( I was never into that alien abduction / government conspiracy thing, I wanted to see random files about wierd crap happening in all parts of the country.
The one about the ‘earworm’ where you had to keep moving or your head would explode was pretty scary…something about a random soundwave affecting the brain more or less…eeeew
