“Pure Morning” is a good one, with that sort of throbbing drone-like sound. Creepiest of all though has to be “I Put a Spell on You” sung by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Dr. Demento used to play that and I could never figure out why! It’s not funny, it’s _terrifying_!!

I totally agree about “I Put a Spell on You.” They play it on the local Oldies station, and it has creeped me out for years.
I just heard a new one that was rather alarming – it’s by Guster, whoever he or they may be – and it seems to be called “Barrel of a Gun.” It’s something about stalking a movie star, and seriously creepy.

Was anyone else spooked by “Hotel California” when they were a kid?
The whole ending, about not being able to kill the beast, not being able to leave, used to creep me.
My older brother’s Black Sabbath albums used to scare me all the time as well.
And the Beatle’s “Revolution Number 9” off the White Album is scary frontwards _or_ backwards. First time my childhood friend and I played it backwards and heard it say “Turn me on, dead man,” we went running downstairs, all freaked out.
