One of those scenes where the villain says; “I’m going to count to three and if you don’t tell me what I want to know I’ll kill you.” The hero says, “I’ll tell you what you want to know, but could you count to three anyway just to show me that you can.” ---

You’re probably right; I haven’t read that book in, most likely, 30 years. You think that was some kind of ironic joke the other scientist was making? Have I been whooshed all these years? One I think I’ve mentioned here before goes roughly like this: Grand Moff Tarkin speculates that Princess Leia may be of some use to them after all, and orders Vader to bring her to him. Vader replies, “That girl you told me to have terminated _immediately_ like 3 hours ago? Dude, that boat has _sailed_.” ---

Planning a bank robbery: Once the silent alarm goes off we will have 90 seconds to grab all the cash we can and get out. -90 seconds, how do you know that? In order to know that you would have to know the location of every cop car in the city on the day of the robbery. How can you possibly know that? Its just a guess really, I’m really just saying we should go as fast as possible. Obviously, the faster the better, but I thought it would sound more authoritative to put an actual number to it. ---
