I didn’t know where to put this thread, because it’s not a pitting but it’s not mundane or pointless at all. Nor is it a question.
But for those who’ve been watching, Schappelle Corby, the accused Australian drug smuggler, was just sentenced to 20 years jail.

I saw the verdict. I don’t know whether Ms Corby is innocent or guilty but I thought the verdict was entirely predictable given the evidence against her.

Ugh . . . I haven’t followed closely enough to really know much about the story, but at first blush it certainly looks like the conviction is ridiculous. I think Australia should use some frickin’ political leverage here and demand to have her back. But I suppose Australia doesn’t want to cause tensions with one of its neighbors.
BTW, I’ve reported this thread so that the mods can move it to the right location. Generally, simple news alerts like this _do_ go in MPSIMS, even though often they are anything but mundane and pointless. (That’s where the first threads on 9/11 went, for instance.)

I’m going to rule it goes in MPSIMS. That’s not just Mundane Stuff, it’s also “deep thoughts.” Don’t be fooled by titles.
