:eek: :eek: Dumping a kid with cerebral palsy out of his wheelchair and kicking him? What a proud day for this fine Security Officer. :rolleyes: I hope he laid down to rest afterward. Must be exhausting to beat up a disabled kid. Why was he pushing the kid to class anyway? We have dozens of disabled students where I work. They roll their chairs independently from one building on campus to another. Some are in push chairs and others electric. Quite a few own specially adapted cars and drive to school. I can only imagine being a teacher. Your student arrives, slouched in his wheelchair, clothes in disarray, bloody nose, and breathing hard. “Why thank you officer for escorting this fine young man to class”. Anyone remember the rent a cop on\* Happy Days\*? Thought he ruled the world? Even he didn’t strike people. One thing I could see - it mentions that the guard and the kid seem to struggle for control of the chair, if the guard accidentally rammed the kids foot into the wall and he tried to move the chair … I have had mrAru slam my foot or knee into an obstruction not realizing I stuck out that far - I have even had my hand pinched when I reached down to adjust the chair and mrAru adjusted the chair without realizing my hand was in the way. If the kid said something that the guard thought of as ‘snotty’ … though I seriously hope the guard loses his job over it, no matter what the kid could have said warrants getting beat up. ---

I bet a civil suit will be filed against the school soon. It’s a troubling escalation of violence against anyone that resists a security officer or cop’s authority. [NY cops worked over an 84 year old guy](http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-man-ticketed-jaywalking-file-5b-lawsuit-article-1.1592002)over jaywalking a few months ago. Doesn’t matter if you’re a pregnant female, elderly, a kid or even seriously disabled. Anybody is fair game to use physical force or a tasing if they argue or resist in the slightest way. ---

After they exit the elevator a couple floors up, the same guard repeatedly strikes the kid in the head while he’s pushing him down the hall because the kid allegedly spit at him. ---

I’m amazed the kid didn’t break any bones. That was a nasty fall. I’m glad this guy has been arrested and charged. I wonder how closely his background and training was checked when he got hired? The school or security contractor needs to look into their training requirements. Perhaps more training might prevent another incident with a student. Anger management classes would help. ---

One very nice thing that’s changing is not only cruiser cameras, but many police departments are now using body cams which fasten somewhere (the lapel?) onto the officer. I’m telling you, I have a great respect for those that commit themselves to law enforcement with an honest “protect and serve” mindset because the job is low-ish paying and often thankless, but there are too many Billy-Bobs with a badge, gun, inferiority complex and a hardon to get people to “respect their authoritah!” and these cameras are going to help get rid of these jerks once and for all. ---

I should have said earlier that whats on this video in no way represents the majority of cops or security guards. They represent a lot of highly trained people that try to make a difference. They routinely put their lives in danger for us. The bad ones make the news. Incidents involving the elderly or disabled always catch my attention. It bothers me more. ---

I certainly acknowledge the reality that there are plenty of cops who abuse their authority. But the thing is most of these cops are not acting abnormally. Because the flip side of the reality I just mentioned is that there are a lot of people who act like assholes to cops. And sometimes cops forget they’re supposed to act like cops and they act like regular people. ---

I work with special needs kids and this shit is part, well most of, the reason we want either cameras or 2 way mirrors in special ed classrooms. All kinds of crap happens there from abuse to teachers ignoring the kids while they do Facebook. Anything can happen when the kids are non-verbal and the rooms are in a corner of the building.
