Science Fiction Comes True with Spray-On Clothing

So, we’ve just invented spray-on pockets. Now we need to miniaturize the spray rig so men can carry one in response to “Honey, can you put this in your pocket for me? and these, too?”

Yeah. It’s like “look the spraying!” then a miracle happens - then “look at the dress!”.

Something is off here. Or they just skip a lot.

No, and you can even show nudity if it is for legitimate news or medical or science stuff. “How to use a breast pump” for example.

Then use the transporter to put them onto your body. Unipiece suits without having to climb in through the neckhole.

Also why there are no toilets on the Enterprise.

Same reason, transporters.

Star Fleet believes in going where no man has gone before.

Transporter room duty sometimes involves transporter room doodie.

Well, they needed a job for the guy that was last in his class at Star Fleet Academy.

What do you call the guy that graduated last in his class at Star Fleet?
Red Shirt Doodie Guy.

Hmm, doesn’t scan as well as it does when you use medical school. Have to give that some more thought.

Crewman #6. Their motto “Last in class, first to die.”

Lower Decks depicted a punishment detail assigned to clean “waste” from the holodeck biofilters…

“Oh, god, Riker’s been ‘playing his trombone’ again…”

Toward the end of this video you can see some smoothing and shaping of the dress.

Not sure if anything new is seen but at around 1:52 you can see excess fibers being pulled off and the neckline and skirt being trimmed. Possibly the surface of the dress is being smoothed by hand, or possibly the material smooths itself out as it dries. The neck portion seems to be turned over so it has a very smooth surface that was originally sprayed on her skin.

Might be an interesting way to make a custom form-fitting Halloween mask. (Soda straws up the nostrils, and some sort of eye protection FIRST!)

Appears that the EMT’s will need a new category for their records: “Injured by attempting to use spray-on clothing.”

For masks, this isn’t anything new: High-quality masks have been latex applied to the face for decades. What’s new with this is drapery: A material that can be sprayed form-fitting (as in the torso), or loosely (as in the skirt).

She didn’t touch it until it was dry. That’s what happens when you have people dressing you

It was not all over her hands, but you can see some got on her hand while they were spraying.

The stuff seems to “dry” pretty fast. It doesn’t stick tight to skin so may not be all that sticky but still shapeable and I think able to stick to itself pretty well for a while at least. I can’t tell if the exterior of the dress was smoothed somehow, under the lighting conditions it may not be as smooth as it looks. Other videos of the product in use show other materials being sprayed over the initial spraying. Possibly just colored versions of the same material. It also may be showing how a garment could be sprayed and then everted to put the smooth side sprayed against the skin outward as done with neck of the dress on Ms. Hadid.
