# Scientists breed bacon-flavored red algae!

Currently the wild version is harvested and fetches about $90 a pound. They are working on developing the domesticated bacon-flavored version into a hydroponic crop that can be grown much more economically than that.

Sad to say, there are already two other threads on this topic:

Aha! Then this thread should be closed or merged into that one.

Yes, I looked for an existing thread first in GQ, IMHO, and MPSIMS, but I didn’t think to look in CS :smack:
