I suspicion that WeirdDave doesn’t really beat his wifer. He’s probably just riffing on old Hubbard Dianetics stories that suggest that a lot of your troubles stem from engrams that get encoded in your subconscious when yopu’re still a fetus in the womb, and Daddy’s beating Mommy, as usual. This kind of thing goes on all the time, according to circa 1950s Dianetics literature (as get it from Martin Gardner’s **Fads and Fallacies** , and other sources.) So he’s just using details from Scientology’s past to make a li’l joke. Like **Lance Murdoh** ’s use of the Scieno buzz-word “inturbulate” (which, I think, really ought to be “enturbulate”, but it’s hard to keep these neologisms straight). Of course, I could be wrong. Have you stopped beating your wife, yet, **weirddave**? ---

I feel so out of touch–it seems I shall have to devote more time to catching up on a crackpot religion if I wish to get the humor. It was hard enough to do just so I could keep up with _The Life of Brian_. Still, precedent suggests it will be worth it. How owuld I go about finding someone to talk to about Scientology? ---

Whether **WeirdDave** has or has not stopped beating his wife is irrelevant. If he hasn’t given himself over to [Bob](http://www.subgenius.com), he’s a goner anyway. Yes, I know this is a pointless and annoying hijack. But I happen to think that the Church of the SubGenius makes at least as much sense as Scientoxicity. ---

Jeez, how do you get police officers to deny people access to public streets at the whim of the event permit holder? I haven’t seen that since the Republican Convention came to NYC. ---
