Have you considered complaining to your City Councilman about the way you were treated, and suggest that if Scientology doesn;t make everyone welcome, and bullies, harrasses and accusses dudes of being achild molester, then perhaps they shouldn’t get “permits” any more. ---

To WOOKINPANUB: You ask why people find these laughable dodos threatening. I’ll tell you one reason - Scientology’s stand against psychiatry and all drugs to fight mental disorders. I can’t tell how angry - and yes threatened - this makes me feel esp. when they get prominent celebs (Tom Cruise) to go on prime time on spout this stuff. I and others I know have been helped by anti-depressants; not to mention those with schichsophrenia or manic-depressive disorder who have also gotten their lives back with the help of drugs. Of course it’s not a perfect science, but it’s science. I don’t want some weird cultists interfering with medical practice. ---

I’m curious to know more about this picketing of their enemies that the Scientologists do. Can anyone fill me in? Do they stand outside the house with signs that accuse them of being thetan lovers? ---

I too take medication to quiet the voices in my head, so while I couldn’t possibly care less what a bunch of nutjobs thinks about matters of mental health, I understand why so many people are offended by their ridiculous stance on it. Maybe I’m not taking the correct dosage, because I’m not sensing any threat here. 😕 Do you really fear(and I’m not trying to be funny ) that they could ever have an impact on medical practices(other than those of their followers)? ---

reply to WOOKINPANUB again - Yes, I feel the Scientologists can influence easily misled people to consider avoiding psychiatrists and drugs they might prescribe. Every day at the bookstore I see people who believe in psychics, homeopathy, etc. etc. So, while I don’t think Scientology is a threat to established medical practice, yes, I feel the big-money big-names “church” of Scientology is doing a lot of harm to some people. ---
