Well I didn’t see the twist coming, I suspected it might have been the case earlier in the movie but the film did a good job of leading me down the garden path to another conclusion. All that aside I thought this was a fantastic film, great score, great acting, very well executed plot (when you realise what’s actually going on). I definitely don’t agree that it dragged, I was on the edge of my seat all the way through.
One thing that stood out for me particularly was how the dream sequences were presented. Not only were they extremely well filmed and beautiful but also they actually did convey the sense of what it’s like to be in a dream, real but unreal at the same time.
I’m glad I hadn’t seen the trailer or really knew anything about this movie before I went to see it, it’s one that should be experienced through the eyes of the narrator as his sense of not really knowing what’s going on is of course central to plot. If you know ahead of time then it’s not the same (I’m definitely going to see it a second time so I can see it unfold knowing how it ends and spot the clues).
