If the yes side win the referendum the position of the monarchy would be discussed in the separation negotiations but I wouldn’t expect the position to change that much while the queen remains on the throne. When she dies things might begin to change quite radically, but that would also apply to Canada, Australia etc. ---

This is going to confuse things - even if Scots don’t like being called “Brits”, they are actually British. What was being objected to earlier was “Brits” being used **synonymously** with English in a sentence which also mentioned Scots. ---

Of course - if Scotland becomes independent it could obviously do what it likes with the monarchy. At present the most likely thing would be to keep it though, or alter the terms in some way especially for Scotland. And it’s always possible that the monarchy could be abolished in the UK even if Scotland doesn’t become independent, especially once the queen dies. It’s just that that’s not very likely. ---
