I love this stuff. I like to slice it really thin and fry the crap out of it. And the kind with bacon ground into it? Greatest thing ever.

I love pork products, and I’m not squeamish about what goes into the sausage, but whatever it is they put in scrapple isn’t appealing to me at all, and that’s saying something.

Good gawd. My parents made me eat this vile, quivering pile of grey goo all while growing up in Pennsylvania.
People still aren’t educated on this blight to humanities’ gastronomy. They ask, what’s scrapple? I always respond: It contains every thing not good enough to go into a hot dog, pureed and mixed with corn meal then fried with oil.
Disgusting.

I only like it when it is home made, not the commercial product. I want to make sure of all the ingredients.
Properly made, sliced thinly, fried until crispy in butter and then served with eggs and toast =) very nice.
I find that many things if home made are way better than store bought. I have served haggis to people without them knowing it was haggis [I just called it oatmeal sausage] and told them the ingredients. They were won over by the smell I guess.

I love love love scrapple. In fact, I remember being bummed out when I moved away from home to California back in the late '80s and realized that there was no scrapple out there.
Back when we were dating, I made scrapple for my wife. She hated it then, but likes it now. Hmm, maybe breakfast for dinner tonight?

Parents used to make it once or twice a year then we’d have to eat it until it ran out. Never really liked the stuff at all, even with syrup.

For those unfamiliar with this product:
Scrapple entry on [Wikipedia](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrapple).
One of the most well-known brands is [Rapa](http://www.rapascrapple.com/index.htm), of which the ingredients read: “Pork Stock, Pork Livers, Pork Fat, Pork Snouts, Corn Meal, Pork Hearts, Wheat Flour, Salt, Spices.”
It’s usual form is a grey-ish, roughly brick-shaped [loaf](http://chomposaurus.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/scrapple.jpg) which is usually sliced and pan-fried until the outside is crispy.
It’s not as bad as the haters would lead you to believe.
