and i swear this is not some weird montague and capulet thing between me and **tom**. i have to agree with him. ltl is a nice default. easy for scum to defend. but i also, know this. interaction is important. i do believe that there are folks that are more likely scum than **fs**. however, i also know that i would much rather be engaged with those folks than talking to grant’s tomb. **unvote** **vote fs** and did yaknow. metagamey as all heck, in direct conflict with that which was posted earlier. statistically drop outs are more likely to be scum than town. kind of crazy isn’ it? and that might be snopes fodder but i have heard it and experienced it before. ---

Glad to hear that you are better. no, it was not a joke except in some sort of dante’s wheels of hell. twitching and shaking for a couple of days sucked BAD. and then staring for weeks as you tried to figure out what the fuck was going on was worse. but i seriously meant what i said. when i got home i had like one card from my “friends”. i had a hell of a lot more support from my buds. you really should check them out. one caveat: pee in **buff** ’s butt before **ed** ’s. i mean he’s cool but if he goes lincoln on you - bets are off. ---

First of all, **Tom** , of course I’m assuming facts not in evidence. It’d be impossible to play this game without doing so. Whenever anyone places a vote, they’re assuming that person is Scum, and obviously, a lot of those assumptions turn out to be false. Meanwhile, so far as I can tell, the case against **Thing Fish** is that laid out in **amrussell** ’s [post 1363](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=11658416&postcount=1363), right? He’s saying that there’s a contradiction between two posts by him, where he first says that he thinks the case against **Drain Bead** is reasonable, and then later says that his initial impression was that it was bogus. But there’s no contradiction there: In the first of those two posts, he said that he was suspicious at first because it looked like it was an attempt to save **peeker** , but then concedes at the end that it’s a reasonable case. OK, so that’s kind of wishy-washy, and I can see why Scum would want to be noncommittal, but it could just as easily be a sign of a player who really isn’t sure who’s who (like pretty much any Town player). It seems like an awfully weak case, for having attracted so many votes. Now, then, on **peeker** : As of [earlier this page](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=11663673&postcount=1461), he’s convinced that there are multiple protective roles in the game… But wasn’t he adamant earlier that he had no idea how many doctors there were? And he also thinks that we have a full two killers, other than Scum, because otherwise the game would go on too long. But isn’t that same logic also consistent with our only “doctor” being a bodyguard who dies? Too many protective roles would also make the game go longer. Aha, [found it](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=11615711&postcount=562). He doesn’t even say whether he knows how many doctors there are, just that he’s not telling anything. Until now, apparently. My suspicion of **peeker** is rising, here, but with **Thing Fish** ’s clarification of his role, it’s plausible that we might have two protectors after all, so I’m going to give **peeker** more rope with which to hang himself.
