That’s just weird.

As an attempt at humor, I don’t think it works. Unless there’s a callback to something I hadn’t seen.

Yes, shooting across the border at citizens of another country is what leads to international conflicts.

At some point the feds might have to step in.

Greg’s legally changing his first name to Vladimir.

And he’s currently got his staff working on developing some sort of rig that can balance his wheelchair on the back of a horse. Once they succeed, off comes his shirt.

Right, and this NHL preseason the Stars’ll play an exhibition game with Greg fitted into a [sledge sled,](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=561127710&rlz=1C1CHBD_enCA835CA835&sxsrf=AB5stBg4ypibJEcPnp0Zkri3Q7-_vJ-0qg:1693350280121&q=sledge+hockey+sled&tbm=isch&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj45bSv_YKBAxUENzQIHb2yBwgQ0pQJegQIDBAB&biw=797&bih=524&dpr=1.56) to emulate [his hero.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgbI55HdqQs&t=1s)

Because judges in Texas are elected, you’ll still see some liberal district judges in places like Austin (where this judge presides). I have no doubt that this ruling will ultimately be overturned by the completely Republican Texas Supreme Court.

> **[Breaking Down the Texas Bills That Will Change the 2024 School Year](https://www.austinchronicle.com/news/2023-09-01/breaking-down-the-texas-bills-that-will-change-the-2024-school-year/)**
>
> Vaping is criminal, books are banned, and school cops are everywhere

> A [new video](https://twitter.com/TexasScorecard/status/1692136694244405271) from Ken Paxton’s financiers has Republicans questioning objective reality. Paid for by the billionaires who are clutching fast to Paxton as he circles the drain, the video claims the attorney general’s impeachment in the House of Representatives proves the House is run by – wait for it – Democrats.
>
> It’s a hilarious reach because, no, the House is run by very conservative Republicans. You can tell by the education bills they passed this session.
>
> For example, Republicans were under pressure to do something about school shootings this session, after last year’s murder of 19 kids and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. **Rather than raise the minimum age to buy a gun, as Robb Elementary parents asked, the legislators responded by [adopting House Bill 3](https://www.austinchronicle.com/news/2023-08-18/gop-bill-will-double-austin-isd-police/), which will require every public school in the state to employ at least one person with a gun.** The bill will force Austin ISD to double the number of police officers it employs and cost an estimated $8 million. The Lege provided $2 million to implement it.
>
> Those extra officers will come in handy in arresting students who are caught with vapes this school year. [HB 114](https://www.kvue.com/article/news/education/schools/texas-student-vape-law/269-e7f4ad8a-2cee-4de5-89dd-6095717872f8) will require any school student caught with a vape to be placed in an alternative learning center. Travis County Juvenile Board Judge Rhonda Hurley recently predicted that **the law will double the number of kids arrested for felony offenses, because possession of a THC vape is a felony in Texas.**
>
> Finally, [Senate Bill 763](https://www.austinchronicle.com/daily/news/2023-08-24/even-chaplains-dont-want-chaplains-instead-of-counselors-in-public-schools/), the school chaplains bill, will not affect Austin’s public schools because our trustees are not going to allow religious zealots to masquerade as school counselors. But that’s what the conservative Texas House voted for this session: a scheme to allow schools to replace certified counselors with uncertified, **Christian-only chaplains who can refuse to help students from other faiths.**
> …

My bold.

Your legislature… working hard for you.

Greg called the state legislature into a “special session” starting on Monday, which under the Texas Constitution allows him to dictate the agenda. School vouchers, a bunch of illegal immigration stuff, and banning private employers from requiring COVID vaccinations. You know, critical governmental needs that warrant calling the Legislature back into session.
