Screw You Ancestry.com

Well, I hope you’ve thought of just putting them on a hard drive for your descendants, and maybe on Dropbox or your own website and/or some other cloud solution.

My band doesn’t: it’s all about who your family is.

3 things:

  1. No one has ever said, hey, we’re part Black… ever. Which could mean he was adopted into the band and they considered him a fullblood member. Just “is”. That line is… prolific.

and

  1. In the 1970s we (my band) started up a casino and from then on they have gotten particular who was or wasn’t a member. I almost didn’t make the cut even though my older siblings did… simply because they changed the blood quantum amount after I was born but before I was registered (I registered myself at the age of 18). They “grandfathered” me in.

  2. Our tribe (the MCT… Minnesota Chippewa Tribe) wants all amounts of Native blood counted vs individual Bands wanting just Band blood recognized. My GGmother had blood from 2 different bands… but only 1 counts down lineage (you choose… ). The MCT wants to change that… so both bloodlines are recognized and ups folks quantum even if you only get money/recognition from one line.

Well, they may own ONE version of it. I tried to search for my bio father on an online SSDI and couldn’t find him, even though my brother swore that he sent the information in. So I contacted the SSA directly, asking them why I couldn’t find my father on the SSDI. They said that any published SSDI is incomplete, and that the only way to accurately search was through the SSA.

That’s some funny shit, right there! A little slice of Appalachia.

Timerider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann (1982)

Yeah, but they bought out a company that the OP gave the photo to. Seems legitimate to me.
