Ayesha: did you try the Java one? If all else fails, go to [www.mirc.com](http://www.mirc.com) and download mIRC. When you get it installed, choose “random US undernet server” from the menu or pick any server that is labeled “undernet” and connect to it. Once you get logged in, a box will pop up asking what channel you want to join, with a whole list of irrelevant crap you won’t be interested in. Type #straightdope in the top and click ok or join or whatever the button says. OpalCat, Thanks, I’ll have Lion try it for me later. He’s the one who down loads things. Heaven forbid I should mess with this machine of his. I do believe the problem is with our computer , somehow. Son has Instant messanger, Lion does ICQ , ( whine) but I can’t chat (whine). If this doesn’t work I’ll still show up and watch ya’ll. That’s odd, I was in there around 9:00 this morning. Donj and BurnMeUp were the only other people in there. Donj wandered off, and then my system crashed. BurnMe never said a word the entire time. Kellibelli Try going to Opalcats webpage and following the link to mIRC or one of the other chat programs. Download a copy and install per the instructions. Actually it is UNDERNET not DALNET that the channel is on.
