SD Film Club

The first rule of Film Club is:

You talk as much as possible about Film Club.

The second rule of Film Club is:

You talk as much as possible about Film Club.

(Sorry, it was going begging…)

You can count me in. A Clockwork Orange might be a good one to start with since it’s easy to find.

Spooje, illiterate film junkie, is in.

The only problem with off-beat, off the wall films may be that our local video stores may not carry them.

Just bumping this to the top. Is this going to happen?

How about everybody goes and sees Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon this weekend, and then we all check in on Monday?

Could we make that Tuesday? I might have a few other things to do on the 25th of December.

Uh, yeah, Tuesday.

::smacks forehead::

Oh, and one more thing:

I propose that when we discuss each film, we start a separate thread for each, so as to keep the discussion focused on that film. If we have one big “Film Club” thread with all the movies in it, it could get really messy, really fast.

So I suggest we use as the subject/title for each thread FILM CLUB: <movie title>. Then the person who starts the thread begins with a standard disclaimer that appears as the first thing in the thread (maybe its own message, even), something like:

What do y’all think? Suggest revisions please. Note, I didn’t explicitly include anything like, “If you haven’t seen the movie, please don’t post to the thread,” because I think that sounds rude, and besides there’s no way to control who reads or posts and therefore we’d be asking for trouble from smart-asses and trolls.

Heavenly Creatures is probably the most disturbing movie I’ve seen. Great flick.

I can be in as long as we’re doing films that have already been released on video. I don’t have the opportunity to get out much.
