The waiting is the worst! More lucky thoughts coming your way.
Yeah, the waiting game sucks
It was quite enough to spend the entire morning and lunch waiting for this first call… but what to do, what to do.
I swear to God…I am never going to get a job ever
It is absolutely effing impossible. I can’t even get a goddamn interview! Every E-mail I send out there is nothing, every time my resume gets looked at…nothing. Every person I talk to…nothing.
I should just enjoy my life working hourly, cuz I am gonna do it the rest of my worthless life.
You sound exactly like me, five years ago. Just out of college and looking for something decent to do. Heck, it took me more than a year of semi-serious (I had some personal stuff going on which made me drag things out longer than needed) to get my first “real” job and then after six months there I came to the conclusion that it sucked and went to Iceland.
Just hang in there fella, you’ll get something. And hopefully, you’ll like it.
Me, I guess I’m not going to Sweden just yet, since the nice lady hasn’t called me to confirm the final interview (which she promised she’d do before the end of the week)
Did I miss an update? Were you called for round two?
Nah
Heard nothing from her… so it’s back to the “drawing board”
Yeah – that job description he was supposed to write up last week and get to me so we could do an interview … still haven’t heard a peep.
Frustrating, but I have found that many people just don’t have the same sense of time that I do. He may still send it.
WTR, sorry to hear you heard nothing. Maybe this week!
Damn, that’s rough
But like **Khadaji **said, there’s always next week! Cause this one has been pretty lame for me
It’s worth getting back to her – something might have come up and interfered with her calling you back. I wouldn’t write it off completely until hearing something definitive.
This week has utterly sucked.
Sure has. My best part was a walk around d/t Reykjavik in which I got to bitch about Iceland with my flatmate.
No replies, no nothing…
Boyo Jim; I just dropped her a note and am secretly hoping that she got the flu or something else that kept her out of the office for a week.
Now I’m feeling seriously bi-polar (in a sense), since not five minutes after I sent her the e-mail she answered me and I’M ON FOR THE INTERVIEW!
Now I’m all giddy and happy
I’m one of the final four, which should give me pretty good odds
Yay!
Hooray! Great news - good luck!
Very best of luck. If you’ve got the interview, they know you can do the job; they’ve just got to make sure you’ll fit in.
I’ve lost count of the jobs for which I’ve applied. I’ve not even had an interview in the past month.
That blows
Well, I had mine last Thursday and I think it went pretty well. They laughed at my jokes and seemed to find me pretty interesting. Now I just have to wait until early April for the verdict… and then the job would start in July if I’m the lucky no. 1. Which would give me ample time to move countries and find a decent place.
Wow WormTheRed that is a long wait! Good luck!
Quartz, I don’t have any words of wisdom, but am still sending lucky thoughts.
People might have 3 months resignation time (and hence, 3 months layoff time), which they were planning for. And the guy who I’d be replacing doesn’t go onto new duties until the same time.
It’s a different time schedule here in Scandinavia
