SD Runners: How do you run in hot weather?

Definitely get a proper running shirt - there is a world of difference. Cotton doesn’t let the sweat evaporate, so you don’t get the full cooling effect.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I don’t know about you, but I sweat when I exercise. I sweat a lot. I hate getting sweat all over my sunglasses.
If you have this problem, here is the answer.

Anyone have any recommendations for running shirts for women with larger than average breasts? I’m currently stuck running in cotton t-shirts which isn’t really cutting it, temperature management wise. Even Title IX sports hasn’t been much help.

I get a headache that isn’t worth enduring, running in the heat, so right now we’re running after the sun has set and things have cooled down. I will have to do a couple of day time runs in the heat to prepare for any competitive event I choose to take part in (just getting started myself.) But picking the time of day for most of my runs to minimize the pounding headache seems like a good thing. I honestly don’t mind the discomfort that just attends being hot, apart from that. And of course I’ll put up with the headache to run in a road race.

Oddly enough, even though I’m also an Aussie living in the states, unlike mhendo I greatly prefer the runs in freezing weather to the hot weather runs. My lungs do hurt but that’s one of those pains that I tolerate running through. It’s definitely a weird mental game and a great way to learn how to listen to your body and figure out what the heck is up with it.
