We’ll be adding 1 flex spot to our rosters, and the draft type voting resulted in a tie. It makes sense in the case of a tie to stick with whatever the current rule is, I think, so we’ll stick with a standard draft and revisit this next year. Remember the draft is Tuesday at 9pm eastern. Nice! Somehow I usually end up with a good draft slot in football, but in baseball leagues (especially the big one) I end up at the end. I’ll take it. ---

Alright, I have a mumble server for voice chat which makes the draft a little more interesting. Preferably you have a microphone and can talk, but even if not, you can listen in on the discussion. It’s free and easy to set up. You can download it [here](http://mumble.sourceforge.net/). There’s one stupid glitch sometimes when a first person logs into a server - they might be deafened (can’t hear others talk) - this is easily fixed by just tapping the push to talk button you set during the setup wizard. Even if you don’t have a mic, just set a button to that and then tap it once and it’ll work. Anyway, run the setup wizard, create a new server, and enter this. Remove the slashes from the server name, I’m just putting those in to throw off bots. Go to the server menu and click add new. Name it SDMB or whatever you want - the label is just for reference. Hostname: silverbolt.bluefang//solutions.com Port 32768 User name - whatever your name here is. Anyway, we can still use text chat during the draft but I find it fun to be able to talk more naturally with other people as the draft goes down. It’ll only take a minute to set up. ---

I cannot begin to tell you how under-prepared I am for this draft tonight. I usually have a set strategy for this league, but the extra roster spot, and my #2 draft slot (which isn’t looking as delightful as it was before, since there are about 6 candidates after AP to take second) are really throwing this off. Anyone want to trade up? ---

Is there any reason we aren’t using Ventrilo? My Installer is fucked and it won’t install Mumble. ---

Mumble is generally superior to Ventrilo - it doesn’t really matter for our purposes tonight, but it does mean I’m renting an active mumble server and have no Ventrilo server. Not sure what to tell you about the installer, except maybe reboot and redownload. What error are you having specifically? ---

My error is that my wife touches the computer. She downloaded a font file with a virus and it totally wrecked the Windows installer, and no amount of repairs seems to fix it. In addition I can’t find my Windows Disk with key, so I can’t reinstall. ---

It appears there are mumble clients for android and iOS. Could you use that as a workaround? ---

I’ll hop on mumble now, if anyone needs any help setting it up or wants to see if it’s working correctly, send me a PM or log in to the server and talk. As I mentioned, there’s sometimes a glitch when you log on where you can’t hear other people. That can be solved by simply tapping the push to talk key. Or possibly clicking the headphones icon on the toolbar, but I haven’t tested that. If you’re logged in but can’t hear anyone, that’s why. ---

Draft is open now. I suggest getting there early, as Yahoo’s draft app has given me problems in the past. Often it required several reloads. Although this year it fired right up instantly with chrome. Also hop on mumble. ---

The Best Draft Award on the league page, based on highest projected score, is… Tazmanian Devils. How do you see the projected scores? There used to be a way on the main page - there was a tab under standings, IIRC. I can’t find a way to see it now. Anyone know? Edit: Found it, it’s a drop down on the standings page. Where “Week 1 standings” defaults. ---

Interesting that it thinks Kelly’s heroes will be a tough luck team this year. Also interesting that it expects me to be the winner of the lowly humans. Also, it apparently frowns badly on not drafting a kicker and defense. ---

I’d actually be feeling pretty good about my team if I’d drafted Trent Richardson or Alfred Morris over Arian Foster. I meant to search for injury updates in the hour before the draft, but I ended up spending most of the time getting people to get the voice chat working, so when Foster fell to me I only had time for a quick search. I found a few people saying he’s a good value at the bottom of the first because he’ll be fine, but so I just took him, but I dunno. Wish I’d have taken the higher floor guys Richardson/Morris. Hope Foster doesn’t kill me. I guess if he’s just flat out hurt and doesn’t play it’s not too bad because I have tate… it’s him kinda lingering and being okay but not very good but still taking 65% of the carries that’ll screw me. ---

Yeah, I guess power rankings is actually more relevant as a predictor, since the record could be the result of a few 103.24 to 102.98 type projected games.
