On behalf of all the SDMB posters I would like to thank:[ul] [li]The Chicago Reader[/li][li]Our Humble Administrator, TubaDiva[/li][li]Our overworked, underpaid, underappreciated Moderators[/li][li]Cecil[/li][li]All the techies[/li][/ul] for everything they have done in this most trying time. I don’t think any of us realize all the hard work done unbeknownst to any of us, to allow us to use this wonderful service. How about a nice shout out to all of them! ---

Hear, Hear. I thanked **Tuba** a few times at the temp board, now that we’re home, I would like to thank **Jerry, the Tech God** for enabling us to keep posting. ---

I, too, would like to thank them. I thought the mods did a great job answering people’s questions at the temporary boards. Especially **Arnold Winkelried**. It was hard to find a thread in ATMB where he didn’t post trying to answer someone’s question. All the mods are great, though. Thanks everyone. ---

Ditto from down here. I see the “embarrassed” smilie still looks like a “yawnie”, but I like the new “mad” smilie (now, there’s an oxymoron, surely!). Now, to just settle in an’ get used to all these new fangled watchamacallits … ---

Most of you probably will not recognize my name, as I do not post often, but I have been a lurker for years. I want to thank everyone for maintaining such a wonderful board, giving the dopers a temp home, and really caring about keeping everyone informed on up to date information while the home board was down. Thanks for all your time, overtime and effort! Melanie ---

A great big “much grass” from the Upper Left Coast to all the mods (esp. **Tuba** ), **Jerry the Tech God** , the Reader, and all the others (you know who you are, even if I don’t) who obviously worked their tushes off to provide a temporary home and get the “real” SDMB back up&running. OMG, the trembling is starting to pass away. Coincidence? ---

What I meant to say was: Yes indeed, the Chicago Reader, Her Serene Highness Tubadiva, the whole coven of moderators, and especially the tech people are most deserving of our sincere gratitude for their efforts and skills that enable this forum of intelligent debate, constructive sharing of the essential minutiae of life, and a multiplicity of opportunities to vent or speak frankly on a wide range of topics, in an atmosphere that prizes clear argument, creativity and wit. What I said was: Woo hoo! wooooooo hoooooo!!! Yippeeee!! Woo hoooooo! Redboss [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/sdmb-appreciation-thread/97454.md?page=2)
