Do you guys have any idea who to put together in divisions?
Do you guys know who everyone’s favorite teams are?
Similarly, where does everyone live?
Arizona Cardinals
Phoenix, AZ
I’m a Chefs fan from KC, living in Indy.
Alternatively, you could throw all the new people into their own division, and split everyone else out.
Packers fan.

I’m a Pisces too if that will help.
Together we probably know most of the favorite teams without needing a roll call. Looking at the player list in the OP here’s what I know off the top of my head:
Cobra Kai (Boozahol Squid, PI) - ???
Donte’s Torino (Taber) - ???
No Use For A Name II (RetroVertigo) - ??? (I think maybe in the NFC East)
Frosted_Lightning - ???
We Do HGH (Stringer) - ???
Curry Porkrinds (tds1273) - ???
Antonican Druids (Oakminster) - ???
Team Ed Gruberman (It’s Not Rocket Surgery) - ???
Kid_A - ???
Unrelated Siblings Uncle Brother Walker) - ???
Stinkers (Stink Pot Fish) - ???
The Gusterrhoids (Justin_Bailey) - ???
Browns - Exploding Pancakes (SenorBeef)
Cardinals - Phoenix Redbirds (dalej42)
Chiefs - Scissor Me Timbers (Munch)
Eagles - Fightin’ Quakers (Furt)
Eagles - Quentin’s Jammers (Jules Andre)
Giants - Varlos’ Zzzzzz
Giants - Court Jesters (D_odds)
Packers - Hamlet
Ravens - Master Baiters (mhendo)
We tried finding criteria like that last year, but with the draft a day away I’m not sure if there’s time to figure that all out. Then again, maybe I can rearrange divisions even after the draft.
We ended up having one division that was all giants fans, and one division full of people from the all-pro league, with the other two just whoever was left over. Towards the end of page 1 in last year’s thread people started chiming in with favorite teams and locations to try to figure out how to do divisions. I think we have 14 people returning from last year and 6 new people.
To match up team names with SDMB names, we’ve got
Returning players:
Curry Porkrinds = tds1273
Court Jesters = D_odds
Exploding Pancakes = SenorBeef
Frosted_Lightning = Frosted Glass
No Use For A Name II = Retrovertigo
Phoenix Redbirds = dalej42
Return of Ryan Leaf = Mhendo
Scissor Me Timbers = Munch
The Brute Squad = Unknown
The Gusterrhoids = Justin_Bailey
Unrelated Siblings = Uncle Brother Walker
Varlos’ Zzzzzzz = VarlosZ
Up by Three = Taber
New Players:
CMFD = Charles, not SDMB, from our other leagues
Evil Monkey = MTRG
Garcon’s Cedillia = Unknown
Hamlets Out of Ideas = Hamlet
Hey There Fancypants = Unknown
Not Sure = Unknown
Sizzurp Sippers = Unknown
Whoever is labelled as unknown, please post who you are. I may have missed a post in the thread if you already said who you were.
I’m from Pittsburgh
Need I say more?
I’ve mentioned it before, but I wanted to bring it up again - last year’s divisions didn’t guarantee you played everyone in your division. If the schedule can be rejiggered without calling NASA for coordination assistance, that would be one thing to make sure we do.
Damn crash when I tried to post.
I’m The Brute Squad, live outside Baltimore and am nominally a Ravens fan, and I prefer Star Wars over Trek.
Varlos does that for the dynasty league. Does it take a lot of time? It seems like it would take a lot of time to run through the various matchups, but maybe he used a spreadsheet script or something.
To that end, VarlosZ has experience setting it up (has done it twice so far) and would probably have some good tips on how best to do it.
If you just want to guarantee that every team plays every other team from its own division once, that shouldn’t be too hard to do manually, though I don’t know if you can change the schedules after the draft, and we likely don’t have enough time to do it now, before the draft room opens. (Wouldn’t want to get half way through a change and then have Yahoo lock in an unfinished schedule that temporarily has teams playing rematches, for instance.)
I wants me a piece of dis’ guy here.
You’re thinking of the keeper league, which drafts in an hour. This league doesn’t draft until tomorrow night.
Oh, wait, this is the Big League, the draft isn’t tonight. In that case, yeah, we have time.
Unfortunately, I don’t know how much help I can be. If you wanted to set up the schedule for a 12-team, 3 division league, I’d be all over that, but this might be different.
Dinner time, back later.
Anyway, the ease of rescheduling will largely depend on how Yahoo auto-sets the schedule. Just look for two teams that you want to play each other but which as yet do not, then find a week in which you can put them together while taking their old, respective opponents for that week and putting *them *together without causing a problem.
It’s possible you could wind up in Rubik’s Cube land, hopelessly lost, in which case you can do what I did last year and have someone leave and then immediately rejoin the league, which forces Yahoo to auto-generate an entirely new schedule and pulls you back to something decent.
For some reason, I can’t access my Big League team, Team Ed Gruberman.
It’s not showing up on the league page, either.
I’m from St. Louis.
49ers fan.
There is a schedule generator that I use in my pay leagues at footballguys.com.
