I find it telling, the hostility with which you people react to the idea that those of the Negro race may, on average, be sex-crazed criminals with mental retardation. Where’s the spirit of open, honest, civil debate? Okay, true, **NDD** engages in the sort of magical thinking that posits _specific genes_ that control IQ, and **Brazil84** prefers to tear down “pure environmentalist” strawmen rather than address the the arguments presented to him. And, yeah, the IQ differential between “races” has tended to rise and fall over relatively short periods of time, putting the lie to the fact that the magnitude of that differential is due entirely to genetics. What was I saying? Oh, yeah, you guys are being too hard on them. It’s not their fault they come from a race (in my new taxonomic classification system!) subject to pressures that selected for gullibility and imperviousness to contrary ideas. I’m only reading this thread as an excuse to avoid doing something else that I really need to do, but felt the need to post kudos to **Heart of Dorkness** for his/her excellent post. I came into this thread not sure what the state-of-the-art was on race and intelligence, but then I read your post, and am leaving the wiser for it (unlike some others I could name). You probably have a future in writing or teaching. For fun, let’s get Brazil84 and NDD in a thread with that “problems with relativity” guy, and let them throw incoherent stupidities at each other, far away from those of us who are capable of learning. ---

On a board dedicated to fighting ignorance, it’d be nice for the Pit to have a sub-forum: **The 9th Ring of Ignorance,** where those that are impermeably ignorant can continue to spout off about their pet ideologies, anti-science manifestos and conspiracy theories; also where the rest of the board, who might be interested, can poke them with scalpels and electrodes to see what kind of response we get, instead of simply banning them, dismissing them, or clogging up the other forums. You know, for the sake of human interest and posterity. ---
