Is anyone planning on doing this? Otherwise I’ll take on the responsibility! Everybody buys one present and mails it to their Secret Santa. Let’s get some rules down: Traditional price limit is $10 excluding postage. If you really want to go over, go over, but let’s try to keep it between $10 and $20 so no one feels bad. There are three steps to signing up. 1. post in this thread. 2. e-mail me at **elenia25 at yahoo dot com**. Please put your username in the subject line. When you e-mail me, include your real name, your shipping address, and whether you are willing to ship internationally. 3. Post in this thread with some ideas for people - favorite things, colors, stuff you are allergic to. When you ship, please wrap carefully to avoid disappointment on the other end. Also include a note with your name and your username so your recipient knows who your secret santa is! Please post when you ship and when you receive, even if you don’t intend to open your gift until later. If you sign up and find out you are unable to participate, please let me know as soon as possible so we can avoid disappointment. I’ll keep a running list of participants in this thread. I’d like to have everyone’s names in by November 30th. I’ll try to get everyone’s assignments in by the end of that weekend. Yay! Oh, I guess I should post about myself. The only thing I ask, please, is no religious stuff (being a pagan or a heather or something like that). I love everything else about Christmas, though. Bright colors, glitter, sparklies, I’m all in! I love purple also. ---

Count me in! Let’s see…I knit and crochet, also cross stitch. I love dogs of all sorts, but especially pit bulls and work in pit bull rescue. For colors I love jewel tones, especially red, green and purple. I am always interested in receiving something that is local to the area I am receiving from, or something you made yourself if you make things. ---

Yay, thanks for doing, **'Mika**! This is absolutely one of my favorite SDMB traditions. Love purple and green, T-shirt size is XL, love chocolate and good-smelling bar soap (though only eat one of those two things), something local from your area would be fun. I’m a knitter. I always buy at least four calendars: Mensa Puzzle a Day, a weekly engagement calendar (usually Audubon or Sierra Club or similar), a small monthly for the bulletin board, and a big monthly for the wall. My Amazon wish list is under my real name – used is completely okay for books and CDs. Yay! Secret Santa! ---
