Eh, don’t love it. Doesn’t look good to me. But he’s a running back and he’s on a roster, even though he’s more mascot than player, and the services never produce good NFL players, what the hell, I like goofy last picks. Oh, shit, I have two picks in a row. That makes this easier. Not _easy_ because I feel stupid making these picks, but I’ve crossed off everything else. **5.01 - Alvin Kamara, RB, NO** **5.02 - Daniel Jones, QB, Ind** Kamara is coming home to retire on my roster. Sure, he fractured a dude’s orbital bone for having the audacity of trying to enter an elevator, but that’s Vegas, baby. I was told that sort of stuff was supposed to stay there. I never thought I would see the day Daniel Jones would darken the final spot on my roster. I’m furious. I had him written in as the 5.01, but I just can’t do that. And I need someone I can possibly start if things go as they typically do for Dak. Malik Willis has all the upside for fantasy but none of the environment. Between these two, I should have a decent enough option to not tank. As long as Danny Dipshit doesn’t trip over his own feet again @Ol_Gaffer is up ---

Shower thought: How would people feel about inverting the draft process a bit next year? We could start the draft earlier, say week 2 of the preseason, without making any cuts. Then, like the NFL does, we have a “final cuts” deadline that happens say 2 or 3 days after the NFL’s cut deadline. This would probably cause a few effects, open for debate on if they are desired or not. 1. Every team would probably have to have the same number of draft picks (we need to decide number of rounds). This may or may not “favor” the stronger teams, hard to say, but definitely a change in the dynamic. 2. No need to balance trades. A player can exceed the number of of roster spots during the draft by as many as they want. They can have unbalanced trades including both picks and players, they will simply have to cut enough players by the time cut day comes around. 3. No real need to decide on keepers prior to the NFL’s cut down day. So no stress about having kept (or drafted) a player who didn’t make the 53 man. 4. Probably need to think through how to handle IR players i.e. do you need to get below the roster cutoff including IR players and then when they go to IR you need to use the Waiver wire to fill those slots? 5. Forcing a strong team to go through the full draft knowing they will be cutting their last 4 picks might be kind of pointless and then prevent those players from being drafted by weaker teams and forcing them to the waiver wire. We may want to skip pick option or something, or maybe we just say that this is the nature of the beast. 6. We may want to have a cap on max players pre-cuts. I know some teams end the year with a few players on IR meaning they could theoretically finish the draft with say 33 players as opposed to the other teams 30 players. Not sure if that’s a problem that needs solving. 7. No idea if this would make the Commish’s job on Yahoo harder or not. Maybe a topic for discussion next offseason. Maybe we’ve already explored this and rejected it, I can’t recall. ---

The draft has been entered and completed which means that the new season begins, you can check your rosters for your current players. Please double check everyone on your roster, including kept players and rookies, looks correct. I entered a few hundred players and could’ve made a mistake. We will also have the post-draft waiver with normal waiver rules.
