I would wait and see how the carries shake out in Week 1 before doing anything crazy. ---

This is basically one more reason why I should dump him. WAIT! He’s awesome and it pains me to part with him. Oh, Jacobs is most definitely the backup. That’s not to say that he can’t regain the starting job if Bradshaw gets hurt or struggles. But as a Giants fan, I’ll say that Bradshaw runs with around 6 million times the fire of Jacobs, flat-out refusing to go down where Jacobs seems to fall down on first contact. (As **Omni** had been saying all the way back in 07. He saw it much sooner than I.) Bradshaw runs like Tiki Barber lite. And believe it or not, I think Bradshaw is better on the goal line than Jacobs. I get the impression the coaches do too. However, Coughlin has long maintained a policy of not putting the starting back in on short yardage / goal line situations simply as a way to save wear and tear on the starter. So I do expect Jacobs to poach a bunch of touchdowns. ---

The issue of compensatory FAAB for the botched draft should be resolved before/during this weekend’s waiver period. Pulling a number out of my ass, I’d say give them $40 if we’re also going to do sandwich picks and more if not. ---

I vote no compensatory picks. I don’t care about waiver budget compensation either way, but if you need a vote for tiebreaking or whatever I vote $0. ---

Of course, I don’t expect the Texans to paste _everyone_ so badly this season, so Schaub ought to start producing, and I wasn’t expecting much from Turner this week given the matchup. You know things aren’t going to plan when Cadillac Williams is your highest scoring player. ---

Were we really worried about parity? In Week One, 3 of the 4 playoff teams lost and the 3 teams that finished 10, 11 and 12 all won. This is going to be a very interesting season. ---
