I cannot help but wonder at this if GH is indeed to be got shut of. Surely, if MON was furiously scampering towards Anfield as he might up the touchline to berate Bobo Balde, the money might be more wisely saved for _him_ to spend, perhaps to bring Larsson with him? ---

Mon’s not going to Liverpool. Larsson isn’t going to the Premiership, as he has said he wants to play in Southern Europe. If anything, MON is going to go to Man Utd. at the end of the 2004-05 season. It would be hard for him to leave a squad he has put so much effort into building and another almost guarenteed crack at the Champions league. 2 things Liverpool cannot guarentee him next season. ---

MoN is going to liverpool I would guess. I wouldn’t be suprised if he has THFC as a fall-back, mainly as his family are settled in Wycombe, and we are very good payers. He would also have a half decent budget to play with. I will be interested in who gets the Chelsea job. Sven appears to have kicked it into touch (and Sven would get better offers than CFC if he were in the market - and he wants to work in Italy anyway). ---

I still think Spurs are doing a good job of looking attractive and making themselves fully available - Levy’s got the club like it’s a bird on the pull on a Saturday night. Firstly the whole ‘in the summer’ thing was entirely for the benefit of MON, and then the Defoe purchase and the additional £13-15 mill is like a wonderbra under a low-cut top – this is what we’ve got for you, Big Boy, come and get it . . . They’re doing all they can to tempt MON but, alas for us, Houllier is making Levy’s efforts redundant. ---

In todays Telegraph there is the obituary of the editor of The Tiger - original home of Roy of The Rovers and Melchester Rovers. How unlike Footballers Wives. Jumpers for goalposts etc etc etc… I bet Roy of The Rovers never roasted anything other than beef. ---

It’s finished? Blimey Owl - feeling very old, and who was also devastated when I tried to buy “Battle Picture Library” for his son only to be told that it hasn’t been printed for about 20 years. I weep for this country. ---

Indeed, it’s finished as a weekly (I think the monthly edition they had planned for it after sunk without a trace). It all ended happy ever after, but was still a sad occasion. Even the Chairman’s message written by Honorary Chairman Simon Mayo was a tough read. ---

**To every Scotsman who came down here on Saturday for the rugby and spent a few days in Wales to stay for the footie**. I hope you enjoyed this beautiful country and this vibrant, fun city. Perhaps you snogged some famous Welsh Totty or had an uplifting walk in the Brecons. In short, I hope you had a lovely time. Do come again. Although perhaps you should wait until your bare, kilt-framed arses are less day-glo-pinkly raw from the merciless paddling you have received in two different sports. It is sad that the Ginger Pele didn’t get to show his mettle against Ronaldo. Oh well he can deal with Sir Les Ferdinand on saturday as well. It looks like Ronaldo has been on a FIFA approved pie eating course. He’s buntermungous. The England goal has been credited to the Portugeezer. ---

It was pretty bizarre watching the goal again-and-again and they were still insisting Ledley scored it; it was like listening to Bush or Blair telling us what a threat Saddam was . . . Anyway, I’m glad he didn’t let himself down and did himself justice in his correct position. Also liked Nicky Butt very much; took him 20 mins to find his feet but he’s just such an important player. Also glad to know that Simon Davies looks to be okay. May even be fit for Sunday . . . thank fook for that ! Might be the first time in history Spurs have a fully fit, fully available squad to pick from. Going to be a fascinating team selection . . . ---

I don’t know whether to laugh and/or cry. Both would be reasonable responses. Three goals scored against ten men and we’re in deep trouble. Oh well if you can’t win the league, or get 4th place and are out of both cups you may as well play to entertain. To try to do a pleat, and turn it into a positive, he is at least giving the youth a run out, rather than sticking with Poyet, Anderton etc. Is this the end for Houllier? I think he’s a dead duck. And poor old Ranieri - win the European Cup or lose your job. Quite an ultimatum. It’s going to be quite a merry-go-round in the summer. Also well done winchester - through to the Semis of the FA vase. The final’s at St Andrews. I assume you will all be there?
