Does anyone else remember when these SD footie threads used to be lighthearted, entertaining and fun ? I’m not playing any more politics. ost: Hard to say what will happen. I expect that they will all serve some time, and deservedly so. While I thought Arsenal did get the raw end of the calls, I also think that their behaviour at the end of the game was ridiculous, and would hardly be considered reasonable for a schoolboy of ten not to say a grown man and professional to boot. I think what is most disappointing about Arsenal’s behavious is the fact that they are a fantastically talented side who can play some wonderful football, yet they pull off this nonsense and you just want to punch the wall. ---

You never know you might like it. \*\* Iversen, his dad is an alchoholic, but I heard that in an inteview with him(Odd that is) and it’s rather different since Odd was a good footballer as well, and I’ve never a fan comment on it even though I should if anyone said anything. I usually watch the PL games at an English pub where there are lots of Brits and they seem to be interrested in dicussing football and not the private lives of players. They might seem like the wrong crowd to you but I rather like them. The Tottenham fans have a deal through their supporter club, I have the same from the Arsenal supporter club in Norway and I would love to go there to see Arsenal play but I haven’t got the money(can pick two of these: food, place to live, go to see Arsenal). I’m not sure what 5) means. That I haven’t got the right to have an opinion because I don’t have money? And finaly, I am not telling you how to support your team, I am telling you how to behave in MPSIMS. I am not easily offended but I expect different behavior in a MPSIMS thread and a Pit thread, if this was in the Pit I could not complain. If you want to you can start a thread in the Pit. Arsenal and Manchester United. Keown, Lauren will get suspension, 2 to 3 matches, and a fine Cole an Parlour might get suspension but I don’t think so, they the other Arsenal players and the Manchester United players will get a fine/slap on the wrist but no suspension. ---

Leaving aside his private life, the thought of David Pleat back managing again brings back some horrid memories, and is enough to make my skin crawl. The man is inept beyond belief. Forget O’Neill if he won’t come now, get someone else in as quickly as possible for your own good! ---

Well that is the most grateful for a 0-0 result I’ve been since Glenn was England Manager against Italy! How they didn’t get a cricket score is beyond me. Re: The Kerb Crawler: The revisionist re-writing of Pleats reign as THFC is as bad as anything in Stalin’s Russia. THis is the man who thought that Johnny Metgod was a replacement for Hoddle and who sold Graham Roberts and used the money to buy Chris Fairclough. He wasn’t a good manager, he was, and continues to be, a lightweight with a lucky streak. It’s looking like it’s O’Neil who’s taking over. ---

Hey, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with ‘kerb crawling’ – wouldn’t even be a criminal offence, I suspect, without the Daily Mail, etc. Harmless - joshing at a personal predilection as per Gazza’s pies. All this paper talk is just so much space filler. I’m glad the _public_ field is narrowing down in the way I’d like it to (Curbs or O’Neil), I just hope that’s what’s also happening behind the scenes - also very nice of Curbs to say he worries about becoming “stale . . . after 13 years”, etc. That’s handy. Yesterday was terrible; top 6 attack, Div One midfield, Conference defence (Keller aside) – has Richards been lobotomised, has Hoddle so sapped Gardner’s confidence he’s become the living dead ? Good news: The class on the flanks of both of Ricketts and Dalmet. Anyone else seen detail of that £1 a minute recorded message of someone phoning George Graham, pretending to be from Spurs and offering him the job? Splendid initiative – Graham apparently asks the Spurs man to phone his agent which he does, but only after Graham speaks to him first . . . . Looks like the predicted three horse race is firming up, surely it’s going to be nip and tuck most of the season. I’m still on ManUre, for what it’s worth. ---

Completely off-topic, but Seeing London Calling’s name reminded me that on Saturday we had the house to ourselves (kids were with the childcatcher) and so we played some of our old records (actual 12" black records) including London’s Calling. It’s still fecking brilliant! “I live by the river”! Yay yay! ---

Can’t Chicago Reader be sued if you falsly accuse someone? You may want to ask a mod. If not then this would certainly be relevant as one team might loose 6 players for the rest of the season, but I think we should be careful untill we know more. ---

From what I am told (my wife is a journalist on the paper that got the story) there’s nothing “alleged” about it, but suppose its a bit like the Ulrika thing - best be careful I suppose.
