Was the SDMB just down for 3 to 4 hours? It seems to be working normally now. ---

It appears to have been down. The boards all have a gap where people stopped posting around 11:10, and I still can’t access [straightdope.com](http://straightdope.com) itself, just the forum. ---

The two most recent posts on the SDMB are about 20 minutes apart. From that fact, and from some complaints on the Facebook SDMB group, it appears that many are having trouble logging back it. ---

In the last 2½ hours (by my estimate), I’ve been the only one to post here. I have heard that there is a denial-of-service attack on the SDMB, which might explain why I’m the only person logged in at present. So no mods are around at present. If I were the sort of person to break the rules … ---

Anyone know of the particular motive for someone wanting to attack the SDMB with a DOS attack, or is this random hacking? ---

It was weird for us, watching you in the big, empty glass room, waving at you and pounding on the glass, knowing you couldn’t hear.
