# SDMB/Linux/Netscape Question?

- Through sheer luck, I came by a spare hardware modem and installed it in my Win98/Linux PC, so I could get online with Linux. The only (included) Linux browser I have found so far is Netscape (version I dunno), but I notice that it does not work just right after posting; after pressing the “Submit” button, the next screen appears that says “If the moderator has decided to …so-on-and-so-on …you will be taken to your thread.”, but it never goes to the next screen showing the thread. It just stays on the screen that confirms the submission. Is there some _easy_ way I can get this to work right? - MC

Yeah, you’ll notice that directly below it there is an invisible link to click on if you are not forwarded automatically. Well, it’s white text on a white background, but once you use it, it changes color to indicate that it’s been followed, so it’s no longer invisible.

This is an annoying bug in the redirect handling in the Linux version of Netscape. You need to click the link below the text like Mr. H[sub]2[/sub]O said. I prefer using [Mozilla](http://www.mozilla.org/) for reading the SDMB under Linux.

Since we’re on the subject, anyone tried using Konqueror? I’ve always liked the KDE, but don’t have a spare computer to figure out Linux on, nor is my computer able to handle a dual boot setup and still be useful in either mode.

I’ve used Konquerer and it works quite well with the SDMB. It’s also faster than Mozilla, but has screwed up fonts on my system for some reason, so I can’t use it. ☹

Regarding the OP:
1. Open the “new reply” process in a new window
2. Close window after submitting reply
3. Refresh original window (optional).
