Pence is coming across better overall in terms of demeanor, but it would be nice if he would actually answer the question every now and then instead of deflecting constantly. ---

Pence’s police speech is pissing me off. It’s classic re-direct. ETA: Is anyone else experiences some Max Headroom-ing on YouTube? It’s lending an amusing and surreal tone to this but I wish it was more frequent. ---

Since at least the 1968 Nixon campaign, the phrase “Law and Order” has been code for “Keep the n_gg_rs in their place.” I’m truly astonished that Pence and Trump have so little historical sense as to make it front and center again. ---

Everything Pence says is about going back to the “good old Reagan days.” Didn’t work then, won’t work now, and just sounds awful to me. But I detest him, so obviously I’m prejudiced by that. What I hate is when he sounds reasonable when in fact, he’s bat shit crazy. So far, I haven’t seen anything that moves the needle one way or the other. ---

Okay, so obviously Pence is defending a shit sandwich. Kaine has better position on the issues. But people who are already familiar with the issues aren’t going to vote for Trump. So this debate is aimed at people who are ignorant and just want to vote based on getting a feel for the candidates. Pence is looking calm, composed, thoughtful, authoritative. He’s passing the eye test - he looks like the president from a movie. Kaine is flustered and not nearly coming off as well. Pence is making a much better defense of a shit sandwich than Kaine is of the superior position. And in that way, Pence is signifiicantly beating Kaine currently. ---
