I initially read that as you saying you went there from [Auburn, a city in California](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auburn,_California). But it now appears to me that the car is an [Auburn](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auburn_Automobile), possibly an [Auburn 8-Eighty-Eight Sedan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auburn_8-Eighty-Eight_Sedan).

@Seanette and I [went over Tioga Pass several months ago, as part of our quest to _get high_](https://www.facebook.com/kcolyalB.boB/posts/pfbid0Qw7fHGN62FhsJF3xVbWhsEK6izC8uW8RqeuEAVbjv5ZNf62oVd6fNSVsJfVjCA9Sl? __cft__ [0]=AZVvYGQ1UV5dToliI8SFvKg1feOCvwdrc9bWzak_mrBIqdX-BEn0qWkfBXOy3Lb7aDtFTy3i3h3pYLuzX9C-4NhOoW6ZzelBLcaNK_t1wB10PEPpPRyQokT6MO2ubXlsB2k& __tn__ =%2CO%2CP-R). That was in our first Jeep, [which, some months after that, sank](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/old-tying-up-loose-ends-in-the-mmp/1011700/239). We have yet to go there in the second Jeep that we got as a successor to the first. I think the highest we’ve been in the second Jeep was at Donner Summit, at around seven thousand feet.

[Note to @Seanette — At some point, later in the year, when weather is more favorable for it, we really need to explore Old Donner Pass Road.]
