Hi all,

Sorry for the radio silence - things have been a bit crazy here and I have been neglecting my duties!

But before donning the hair shirt, it’s my pleasure to announce that the [January thread is up](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/monthly-photo-competition-14-jan-2024-bugs/995733). The topic, chosen by @Dogginit, is “bugs” which can be interpreted as widely as you like - if it crawls, buzzes, creeps or, well, looks like a bug, then it is for the purposes of this competition (and that doesn’t include any more leftfield interpretations, which as always are very welcome).
