I don’t have to get off the couch anymore to browse online. [Here is my new monitor.](http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/yojimboguy/vwp?.dir=/My+Photos&.src=ph&.dnm=straightdope.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/yojimboguy/lst%3f%26.dir=/My%2bPhotos%26.src=ph%26.view=t) Throw in a wireless keyboard and mouse, and I’m in couch potato heaven! ---

I agree, I surf this way too - but mine is [bigger](http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/jasgpics/vwp?.dir=/SMDB&.dnm=SMDB+bigscreen.jpg&.src=bc&.view=l&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/jasgpics/lst%3f%26.dir=/SMDB%26.src=bc%26.view=l)! (7 feet diagonal for the curious.) HDTV rocks! ---

God that’s funny! I was ready to be insanely jealous ("hell of a way to announce you got a honkin’ great TV), but thanks for sharing the moment with a picture. Just you wait. Someday I’ll sell my novel and I’ll buy a BIGGER set! ---

Sweet merciful crap. A couple weeks ago, I saw the UGa/Auburn game on HDTV at the Sony Store in the Eaton Centre in Toronto. I could not believe how much better a football game looked in HDTV, not only in terms of picture clarity, but the aspect ratio–in 16:9, you can see everyone on the field. Last year, CBS showed a basketball game (Michigan State vs. someone, I wanted to start a thread about it but it was during the board outage) in 16:9 even to the non-HDTV audience, and it looked great. I wish they would do this more often. ---

Calling all freudians, calling all freudians I now have MONITOR-SIZE ENVY, like my other size-envy wasn’t enough…
