If you were an Academy member, which film would get your vote?

That’s the problem–he should have several on his mantle already, but doesn’t, so when he wins this year, I can’t begrudge it, even though I don’t think he deserves it.

It has now come to a point where the Academy can’t distinguish photography from effects work: the last four years, the same film has won both categories (an unprecedented occurrence), where I’d argue that in most cases, it was a bad choice (even if the recipients were all undeniably talented people). And this year will be the same.

[I just learned he has an Instagram account and it’s amazing.](http://www.slate.com/articles/arts/movies/2014/02/emmanuel_lubezki_s_instagram_feed_the_cinematographer_for_alfonso_cuaron.html) Username is “chivexp”

It was between Nebraska and Gravity for me but I voted for Gravity.

I very nearly voted for _Gravity_, but I decided in the end to distinguish between F/X and cinematography and went with _Nebraska_.

ETA: Those were the only two I’ve seen in this category, but I suspect my vote would have been the same.

I think it’s _Gravity_, no contest, even though I am distinguishing between effects and cinematography (I picked _The Hobbit_ for the former).
