Submitted for your approval * * * SDMB Rap No one can tell you what to do But I do have one thought for you Check out the board known as Straight Dope Instead of in you house to mope You’ll find all manner of people here Some are real jerks, most are sincere You read the posts and realize information grows before your eyes Just tell me what your mind has in it There is no prize, don’t try to win it Grab for the reins, it’s quite a ride I’ll see you on the other side (here’s where you make that sound with your lips pursed together, blowing out spurts of air: bprfff, p-pfff, bprfff, p-pfff) You talk about variety There’s so much here for you to see There’s Mundane Posters, Great Debaters, Opinion Givers, America Haters Republicans and Democrats, Some Dirty Poets, Some Dirty Rats No Matter what your style or faith You can make friends, you can relate Take one big leap, find out yourself Just post a poem, or ask for help Report a fact, or take a poll Don’t let no one define your roll Relax and read through mindless flirts Tell all the girls you’ll raise their skirts Or take a stance on doing speed Or who can smoke what kind of weed Discuss the Bible with the teacher Or meet someone and try to reach her (bprfff, p-pfff, bprfff, p-pfff) You say you want some politics Again enjoy the many picks Take sides or just take a back seat The arguments just can’t be beat If you don’t like the tone you hear There is a remedy, don’t fear You tell that MFA to git And bring their ass into the Pit And now there ain’t no holding back You give 'em hell, son, you attack Make sure you finish off the slime Don’t let 'em back another time (bprfff, p-pfff, bprfff, p-pfff) So now you got it, it’s Straight Dope You understand the word I hope Don’t hesitate for one more minute Take the leap, sign up, get in it Start posting what is on your mind You’ll catch the fever given time You’ll be the new man of the hour Remember this - Knowledge is Power ## werd ---
