# SDMB size

Is the entire Straight Dope archive, including the message board posts, stored on one hard drive? My question is just how many gigabytes does it all take up.

More than 2 GB. But it’s not the size of the message board, it’s how you use it!

Nope, one single server, as far as I know. 2 GB’s isn’t even that much, when you think of it. We’ve got loads of room left on that hard drive. 🙂

Pity (until recently), you didn’t have spare ham§ster power.  
A big hard disk is not the be all and end all y’know.

And, a good thing about hamsters is that they breed like…well…hamsters! **Jerry’s** got a whole army of the little doped-up guys ready to work for him, bred just for the purpose! And who said genetic engineering couldn’t benefit mankind? 😃
