Would the participating Dopers post what kind of t-shirts they are interested in? I have many themes to choose from - I’m afraid that Mr. SCL and I are “get a t-shirt everywhere we go” people and I never throw wearable t-shirts away. Humph. That puts me in mind of another thread… ---

Excellent idea, **Snakescatlady**! A lot of people mentioned in their emails to me that they were hoping for something distinctive to the sender’s area – go ahead and post that preference here, or if you definitely are or definitely aren’t a sports fan, etc. The one I’m planning to send out is from a local colonial-era inn that’s now a brew-pub/restaurant – a nice T-shirt, but it has a big ol’ quote about beer on the back (not the “proof that god loves us” one, but something similar) – and I’m a recovering alcoholic. Never worn it, never will. So if any of the XL folks definitely DON’T want a shirt about beer, post here, and I’ll make sure I don’t assign myself to you. What I’d like – your town name or a local business, or if you’re a college kid, your college. If you’re in a group with its own T-shirts (performing group or club or whatever), that would be neat. I love flamingos, so if you’ve got a vacation souvenir with a flamingo on it, that would be super cool too. I’m not a big sports person, though, so major-league stuff wouldn’t be too special – but if you’ve got a funky minor-league team, I’d go for that. Or anything! **Important note** – if you haven’t gotten your confirming email, let me know – we need to find a way around your spam blockers now. Either provide me with a second address, or tell me to try again from my main email, which is an msn account – I know some servers single out yahoo as probable spam. I will need to be able to email you, though, to get you your person’s name and address. ---

And I for one resent that remark as it is completely and bold-facedly correct and there’s not a damn thing I can do about it! :mad: 😉 I could always send a Tigers shirt. They suck on a much grander scale; I’ve been know to take homework to their games to have something to keep me occupied. I assumed we’re just sending something from the wardrobe we already have, right? To sort of get a flavor of the people with whom we’re exchanging? 'Cause I don’t want anyone to go to any extra trouble or expense for me; I just want a clean and interesting shirt. Yes, that means no blood. _shrug_ Girl’s gotta have her standards after all. ---

Am I too late? I am in Bangkok and I can buy any size shirt easily on the street. We have really vulgar cheesy shirts (ie porn olympics) which will be embarassing for me to even purchase but I’ll sacrifice a bit of dignity on this. We also have a few political shirts that are anti-Bush, some also vulgar and we have the famous “Engrish” ones Asia is known for. Of course we have shirts in Thai as well.
