I have 2 possibles in my drawers–but neither of them is all that clever or witty. They are regional, I suppose–but this town is not a tourist mecca. Would a Tshirt depicting the local HS be acceptable? Also-if you signed up for a size, are you gonna get that size? IOW, I’m not trading with an adult small person, but an adult medium, correct? This is harder than it looks! I would prefer no naked people on mine, please…foreign dissings of Bush are more than welcome. I am not picky–just as long as it’s clean. ---

Time for a refresher on the guidelines: **Size** – I’ve divvied you up into five groups (adult unisex sizes S, M, L, XL, XXL). All swaps will be within size groups – smalls will swap with smalls, larges with larges, etc. Please specify one single size – not “XL, unless it’s a Hanes Beefy Tee, in which case a L is fine…” **Condition** – good. Used is fine – expected – but you weren’t raised in a barn, you can tell what’s acceptable. There’s used and “used,” if you know what I mean. Some people have said they plan to buy one – that is okay, but ( **sniff** ) somewhat against the spirit of the exchange. **Content** – acceptable in polite society. Nothing provocative (sexually, politically, culturally, etc. etc. etc.). Something you wouldn’t mind explaining to your mother or your boss where it came from. (Well, aside from the whole “there’s this online community I’m involved in – no, I’m not a creepy loner type…”) Remember – you’re sending a T-shirt you don’t wear. If you get something cool you will wear, you’re ahead of the game – if you don’t, well, it was a fun experience. So think about your recipient but don’t obsess about it: If you’ve got a choice between fun and a nice color vs. really weird and butt-ugly, go for the former – but if all you’ve got is the latter, that’s fine too. ---

I’m a girl, so I won’t mind references to sports teams or beer at all, I enjoy them both because I’m a girl. (and they’re in good taste I’m sure.) And if I were a girl who enjoyed other girls, I wouldn’t mind a t-shirt about said other girl enjoyment; I am not, however, a girl who enjoys other girls in any way but sharing a pedicure afternoon, so t-shirts referencing other said enjoyments are **right out**. But that falls back on the good taste thing **twickster** suggested as well. Let’s not let sexism (or any other discriminatory -ism) seep into this, eh? ---

I, for one, will take anything at all, no limitations, no questions asked. And so, whether they know it yet or not, will whoever I trade with. I’m not going out and buying a tshirt, it won’t be anything fancy, it won’t depict a local sports team or watering hole or have a clever saying. If it was any of those, I’d be wearing it, wouldn’t I? There’s a decent chance it’ll be one I got from the bloodbank. It’s an obnoxious red, and I always feel pretentious when I wear it. But you won’t feel pretentious, will you? After all, it wasn’t **your** blood that got the shirt! And when your friends say “How’d you get that shirt? I thought you passed out when you saw a needle!” you’ll have a fun story to tell. And when my friends say, “I didn’t know you enjoyed the Thai sex trade/monster truck rallies/pledging a sorority/random mustard stains/etc.!” I’ll have a fun story to tell them. (Leaving out the whole on-line community thing.) I mean, that’s the whole point, right? ---

Whoever’s name I get can choose from hockey, cats, hockey, Grateful Dead, cats, Hawaii, blood donor, hockey… At last count I had about 35 Columbus Cottonmouths hockey shirts. That doesn’t include the sweatshirts, denim shirts, etc. However, I’m not getting rid of any of my Snakes shirts - we’re SPHL champs! ---

The challenge is choosing which shirt to send some lucky(?) recipient. Do I choose one from an obscure (and now closed) drinking establishment, or one from a geek conference? One from some local micro-brewery, or one from an even more-local band? My vintage shirt from Springsteen’s “Born In The USA” tour? Decisions, decisions… ---

Not to throw a wrench in here, and it doesn’t apply to me, but you might let your exchange partner know if you have any softener or detergent allergies so they can wash the t-shirt ‘naked’ a few times before sending it to you. Obviously, you’ll wash it as well, but I know softener builds up. ---

I’m willing to explore the world of others bottom of the drawer T’s. I’m an XL high school theatre director, i have a LOT of t’s from the many shows we have done at the high school. these all have a long list of all the perticipants on the back and name the school, play title, and dates. I also have a more generic baseball style t with our prgrams theatre logo and the words “theatre geeks” Another option, I have a few of the orchesis (dance squad) shirts. Some of the shirts over the years have been pink or even (shudders) bright pink. I prefer black, so if you want a pink high school dance squad T, let me know… ---
