It appears my name immediately invokes a slightly odd palaentologist. I’ll have you know the Ross were one of the funkiest clans of the highlands, known particularly for our skill in battle and our enormous sombreros (not sure on that point, check later) and the size of the tract of land still bearing our name to this day bears me out. We fought under the Bruce at Bannockburn (including me PERSONALLY of course) and our leader signed the [Declaration of Arbroath](http://www.geo.ed.ac.uk/home/scotland/arbroath_english.html), without even demanding to see his solicitor. The Clan Ross invented sniper rifles, vibrating beds, alarm clocks, submarines, esperanto, intercontinental ballistic missiles, yoga and loon pants, and coined the phrase “That’s no moon, that’s a space station” before anyone knew what space was. But no. Apparently I’m a lanky pampered twit with a divorce fetish. Tchoh. ---

**WaterJ2** -or whatever his/her name is (sorry) makes me think, “what didja do?” It rhymes kinda. **bottle of smoke** -I get a laugh. It’s a cool name. **people in the picture pages** -I feel like I know them. Foolish, because I don’t really. **Folks who’s posts I’ve read many times** -I think they’re pretty smart. One thing I’ve learned from message boards is not to underestimate the lurking population. **JohnBckWld** makes me think of the chorus of Blu Cantell’s “Hit Em Up Style.” Whenever I see **Scylla’s** name, I think of a guy fuming about the Amish while he walks toward a pond in his underwear. **Tiburon’s** name always makes me think of California. I have no idea why. **scott evil** always makes me think of _Absolutely Fabulous_. Oddly enough, **Lightnin’s** name always makes me think about a cute guy with a goatee and a shaved head. ---

I simply wonder how many others tried 10 or 12 possible names when first registering only to get the maddening “that username is already registered” message and had to settle for thier 13th choice… Kind like ordering vanity plates from the DMV! 😃 ---

Whenever I see **Anthracite** ’s name, I think of the nineteen-thirties radio mystery _The Shadow_, starring Orson Welles, “brought to you by Blue Coal[sup]tm[/sup], America’s _finest_ Anthracite.” **Erislover** makes me think of a guy who’s just climbed thirteen steps, in order to stick his wee-wee in a giant golden apple. I managed to get the first username I typed in ( **zweisamkeit** , obviously). I don’t think many people think much about my name besides “What the fuck?”, since it took five posts before my superhero powers were given in (a thread that I would do a search for, but the hamsters would be overloaded), and my power was basically that evil people could not pronounce my name :D. **Guinistasia** makes me think of a techno-Anastasia Romonov for some reason **Tiburon** reminds me of the older Hyundai Tiburon commercial where they had the car skimming underneath the surface of the ocean. **Homebrew** has me picture a guy sitting on a barcalounger with one of those hats that holds two cans of beer and straws to your mouth (sorry, the **brew** is what did it!) **OpalCat** makes me think of a luminescent cat in a top hat. **Gaspode** makes me think of octopus/alien tentacles. ---

**OpalCat** makes me think of that damn Elton John song… What is it… “Honky Cat”. 🙂 And **Guinistasia** reminds me of the Kinks song - “Guinistasia may destroy ya…” And I’m quite ashamed to admit what enters my mind when I see **Manda JO**.
