SDMB Valentine Exchange '05

I agree!

buttonjockey, i enjoyed the card. i had the same card in my hand to buy when i spoted cadbury mini eggs. i put down the cards and went for the eggs. the next time i went in the cards were gone. i’m so glad i got your’s, the pictures are sooooo funny.

Which ones would you like to do?:

St. Patrick’s Day
Easter
4th of July
Thanksgiving
Christmas
New Year’s
Hannukah
Other?

I was thinking of holding on to my address list until Easter. And by that time, I should have a little time to be creative and have some fun!

But I guess any holiday is a good one to get cards on! How about President’s day?

Yeah, I know…it’s a little late. But still…

I had to take out Hanukhah, because it feels to be the most religious. I know Easter is religious, but you can go the way of ultra-bunnies and ignore the resurrection thing if you like. And same with Christmas!

So all the others, yes. When is St. Paddy’s Day?

March 17.

The flood of cards has slowed to a trickle. :frowning:  I would love to send and receive cards on other holidays. This was a lot of fun.

And I got these a couple of days ago, but only just now have I had the time to get online and thank Button Jockey and lezlers for their cards (mmmm…chocolate…)!

So let’s do St. Paddy’s Day. Who’s up for it? Should I try to coordinate it? I’ve never done that before. How early should I start the thread, or does someone else want to do it?

Hey, everyone.

Everyone’s sent me such lovely cards! You guys are the best.

I’d like to send a big, fat thank you to:

Twickster (love the bookmark, BTW–it’s now sitting on my desk, waiting for whatever novel I read next)

Lvgeogeek–man, I haven’t seen a Hello Kitty valentine in ages. That was a very cool blast from the past!

Lezlers–I loved both the personalized poem and the choco-bit, which has just been devoured.

Shirt Ninja 13 Thanks for the Winnie the Pooh maze!

Avarie537–in a lovely lavendar envelope, no less. (The card, I mean–not Avarie.)

Jess–You can count on my fighting ignorance with you anytime

Portia–Great quotes and a lovely card.

AwSnappity–What a cool, quirky, handmade card! Very charming.

Pandora–The card you sent was very pretty.

Izzybella–Love the tattoo! Thanks.

Capn Pitt–Great haiku.

LilyoftheValley–What a sweet handmade card!

Canadiangirl–Great glitter. I should use some of that on my cards, myself.

Ceiling Whacks–You had great glitter too, but of a very different kind.

Annie X-mas–Snoopy! With a maze. Way fun.

BrattiAtti–Another creative homemade card. I’ve got some pretty neat acts to follow!

The Punkyova–The Punkylet is a cutie. Love the photo!

amarinth–I like the design on the front. Was that a linoleum print?

I’ve had a nasty respiratory infection going on for quite a while now, so I haven’t been doing very much for the last two weeks or so. That’s why I still haven’t mailed out valentines. I’m very sorry I haven’t them out yet; I hope you’ll understand. It’s only been yesterday and today that I’m starting to feel like a human being. The valentines everyone’s sent me have certainly been helping to cheer me up while I’ve been sick. I’ll be mailing everyone a card in the couple of days.

Hugs to everyone!

Hey–I just realized that I left a few people out.

Thanks also to:

dbygawdcapn–Your town’s postmark is something else. Did you realize that? The postcard was marked "Feb. 8, Loveville, MD."with a big heart and a cupid.

Monica–Thanks for the handmade card, with my name in glitter puffy paint, no less.

Anaamika–Thanks for the handmade card, with the taxi and the ladybug.

phall01006 --A very pretty handmade card, with lovely star confetti. The choice of stamp was a nice touch.

Viva–Thanks so much for the pretty card.

Susie Derkins–Wow. This was very cool! Not just a card, but a grab bag of fun stuff. Thanks so much!
