SDMB Weight Loss Club, July 2008

You can get 32" jeans to fit you at just under 14st? I’m just over 11 and a half and I’m still wearing 34"!

I do believe Malacandra lives outside the US. He’s probably talking metric, no?

He lives in the same place as me - hence my comment.

Still static at 92.5kg. In my defence, I had a Liver biopsy on wednesday and was forbidden to exercise for several days. So back into it today, and it is nice to know that I can maintain the weight loss for a few days without working out.

Si

Down another 2lb at my weigh in (which means 1 net as I put one on last week). Now at my lowest weight so far in this process at 11st 7lb. Only another 10lb to go! (However, I fully expect to put on weight on my holiday which is from this Friday).

Okay, I take back what I said about my jeans - I tried on a pair of jeans yesterday that I have kept since before I bloated out and they fit me (snugly but I could actually wear them). They’re a 30" waist.

The stages I went through as I was trying them on:

:frowning:
:dubious:

Which means I MUST be in 32" territory for the most part, and any shop that tries to convince me otherwise is going to get boycotted.

Back up a pound, which is what happens when I don’t follow my eating plan…need to kick myself in the butt.

Well, we had a small ripple in the fabric of the space-time continuum, 'cuz I’ve been sick. I’ve missed 1 week 2 days of exercise and my eating hasn’t been fabulous either. I made the mistake of allowing soda to come into my home. Last week I neither gained nor lost weight, this week if I don’t get off my butt soon I will start putting it back on.

I have accepted that these things happened, and I know I’m going to be a little bit behind in my running schedule now, but all I can really do is just pick myself up and carry on. There is a lot of stress going on right now with the impending move (less than two weeks!) and some slip-ups are bound to happen.

This week. A lesson in patience.

I’m feeling a bit better today, so I just may go out and hit the trails again today. I don’t know what to expect from my body after missing a week of workouts, but I resolve to be accepting and compassionate toward myself regardless.

So realizing how easy it is to get out of the swing of things, I’ve committed to tracking my stuff on SparkPeople from now on. I’d been halfheartedly posting in the message boards but I am going to start tracking calories. Plus the recipes they have on that site are beyond compare.

I’m RacingSlug if anyone wants to add me as a friend.

Done!

I do believe I have been pointedly British in about 10% of my posts over time, and what would I be talking metric in? Pounds? Stones? Inches? :dubious:

Illuminatiprimus, I’m quite burly about the chest and shoulders. It meant that people routinely underestimated my weight when it was higher, and now (since most of the exercise I’ve been doing is walking, which has toned up my leg muscles and just about made my backside vanish) apparently it means that my waist is on the small side for my weight. Also, I don’t know how tall you are, but I’m about 5’ 11".

After work today I’m off to my first weigh in after my first week on Weight Watchers. I have to say that it’s been difficult at times and I’m hungry a lot. I made a giant batch of zero points soup last night to keep me going through the starving times.

I overate on Sunday and used up what remained of my extra weekly points but that said, I think I’ll still show a loss for the first week. Weekends are difficult so I’m going to have to devise a better strategy.

I’m 5’7, but note my previous post about getting into a 30" pair of jeans so I suspect that it’s just been a while since I’ve tried on a pair of 32"s.

I lost 4.6 lbs my first week on weight watchers! I’m sure that rate of loss won’t continue but I’m happy to be on track.

My daughter lost 1.8.

She said she didn’t do so well Sunday and Monday which resulted in not much loss at our meeting on Tuesday.

The zero points soup is really good and a perfect snack when I get home from work so I’m not ravenous while I’m cooking dinner.

I lost half a pound at my weigh-in which makes a total of 25.5lbs since I started in January. Only another 19lbs to go until I reach my target!

Done!

I’m doing pretty well in maintenance mode. I haven’t gained, and I think I might still be even losing a little bit. The main thing is that I’m very, very happy with my body right now.

God everyone is losing more weight than me, I clearly suck at this game :frowning:

Sooo happy!

I went to the grocery store and got all sorts of healthy goodies. I’m trying to plan my meals a little better using the SparkRecipes. Last night I tried cooking the jalapeno poppers with poblano peppers, and I really went overboard on the spicy, so while they were fun to make they were impossible to eat and my mouth was still burning hours later! Tonight I am trying the hot wings recipe.

I finally got off of my duff and hit the running trail yesterday, easy 1.5 miler, it felt great! It had been 10 days since my last run. I am so grateful to be back on track with my health, that is all I can call it, grateful…

Don’t feel bad, Illuminatiprimus. Due to an unfortunate hiccup in my health I have had what feels like 10,000 calories worth of cranberry juice in the last 12 hours. I know the couple of pounds I lost last week will be back with a vengance just as soon as I step up on the scale. Sometimes the game throws you a curve ball.

It’s not that I’ve not made progress because I have and I’m really happy with the way I’m looking right now, but I’ve lost 24lb in 24 weeks and compared to a lot of others here that doesn’t seem to be all that much progress (I know I know, don’t compare yourself to others, I can’t help it though).
