Weigh-in day: 211. That’s five pounds total, in a little over a week. I of course don’t expect to maintain that rate.

Monday am weigh in: 121.6! Down from 123 last week.

That’s back to where I was a few weeks ago. This time I hope it sticks.

Bad day. Ate Whatsit Jr’s leftover PB&J that he brought back from school, ate MiniWhatsit’s leftover mac & cheese at lunch, and just ate a packet of crispy noodles leftover from Chinese takeout the other night. I need to come up with strategies to avoid snacking like this. I think I added about 400 calories to my daily intake with all that crap.

Why did you eat it? It sounds like you feel guilty about leftovers. What’s wrong with letting Jr and Mini finish up their meal later?

Started Weight Watchers December 29 (to beat the new year rush) and I’ve lost 6.4 pounds. I was truly expecting to lose a pound a week. I know the rest won’t fall off at that rate, but I’m changing my eating habits and making better choices. Only 35 more to go.

Bad habit/like & miss mac and cheese and PB&J/was slightly hungry when I was cleaning up and disposing of lunches.

Mostly bad habit, though. I think I just need to develop the habit of tossing the leftovers when mealtime is over, immediately, rather than letting the food sit there for a while in case the kids want to come back and eat a little more later. Because 90% of the time, when they’re done they’re done, and they aren’t going to come back and eat more later. So then I just wind up cleaning the plates away when I’m feeling snackish again, and I have more trouble tossing the stuff instead of finishing it.

Will do better tomorrow.

I lost 1 pound this week and I suppose I should be happier about it than I am. I knew full well when I ate all those cookies that I would set myself back a month but of course I regret it now.

Starting weight 6/03: 250
Ending weight : 8/04: 135
Starting again: 6/08: 150

Oddly, the Christmas splurge apparently had no effects on me at all, and I’m now losing the fastest since I started running in September. I’m down to 150 lbs now (from 167 in Sept.), and I fit into my size 8 work pants! They are still a little snug, but work acceptable. It’s great.

I’ve slowly started adding more strength training into my routine and gotten some dumbbells that I can add weight onto; and my work is throwing a 5k in three weeks, and I think I’ll be able to run the whole thing (if I don’t freeze to death)! The one good thing about the huge surge in gym attendance this month is that it forces me to run faster on the track or get run over. 🙂 It’s also a sort of confidence booster. I still feel really self-conscious about how red and sweaty I get when running, but seeing other people there that are still relatively new at this too, helps.

I’m using SparkPeople’s nutrition goals and hitting them dead on every day. Usually eating the lower end plus a little bit. No change from last week.

MiniWhatsit (age 4) has now announced that she likes “doing exercises” and that we shall be doing them every day after lunch. So I have a live-in motivator, apparently. (Watching a 4-year-old attempt to do tae bo is quite hilarious, incidentally.)

Back on the wagon after the holidays. Weight is 185, so basically unchanged. Am now doing 50 mins of cardio 3x a week, plus some DVD yoga “when I can”. I am also going to allow myself to eat toward the top of SparkPeople range. It’s less than 100 calories over what most calculators say my basal metabolic rate is. I think it’ll be okay. And i know that eating at the bottom of the range doesn’t give results 😉

Still feeling de-motivated and hopeless, quite frankly. October and November’s two-pound weight loss really bummed me out. I had my thyroxine checked and they were normal, so I can’t blame it on that. I dunno. I’ll just follow the plan. Maybe I won’t even weigh myself very frequently. Once a month maybe?

All of you who can lose a pound a week… enjoy it.

So after waiting for **half an hour** outside on the train platform, in -8 degree weather, wondering if a train would ever deign to show up and take me home, I decided that my now painfully numb feet couldn’t handle leaving my apartment yet again to go to the gym.

(Indeed, it was over an hour at home before I got full feeling back in my toes. Bleh.)

Jumping jacks are incredibly boring, btw. I played some fluffy brain candy on Hulu to take my mind off it, but that was one very long hour.

It’s now -10 and I’m really glad I’m not trying to go from gym to car, and car to home, having to park at least a block away both places, when I’m all damp and sweaty.

I hate winter. 😛

Hey! This happened to me yesterday! After four months of successfully making it home from work I somehow jumped the wrong train. I ended up god-knows-where standing outside for a half an hour in the freezing cold. In shoes like [this](http://www.skechers.com/shoes-and-clothing/women/styles/casual_shoes/product/peaches_1/plum). It really sucked! I genuinely commiserate. We probably burned a bunch of calories from all that shivering anyway.

I don’t suppose I can make you guys feel better by telling you that it’s going to get cold here tonight, and tomorrow, the high is only supposed to be in the mid 50s?

No?

I love living in Florida during January. Stay warm, guys.

How’s your tummy, **olives**?

Surviving. Still in pain. Had a series X-ray done today–it took four hours. Longest 20 minutes of my life at the end, while three doctors hovered around the computer monitor with grave expressions on their faces and kept taking more pictures. They wouldn’t tell me what was wrong. Turns out some food particle was trying to impersonate a growth. I could _hear_ the relief in the doctor’s voice when she confirmed it was just food. I’ll get the full results later. I’m not optimistic they’ll find anything significant. I don’t even care. I really feel like I dodged a bullet today. I could feel death breathing down my neck. Scary as hell.

I haven’t really been exercising deliberately, but I had to pace around the X-ray room for 30 minute intervals so I’m pretty sure I did something productive today. Oh yeah, that and the fact that I didn’t eat much. I’d like to continue losing weight, but for now I’ll settle for being healthy again.

I think it was something like -15 when I went to the gym last night. Half an hour on the elliptical and my toes never did thaw out! But I wouldn’t trade Minnesota winters for Christmas lights on palm trees any day. That’s just weird. 😉

I’m feeling great today, after finally dropping some water weight. My weight has been hovering around 164-165 since the holidays and I’ve felt very bloated and puffy. To my surprise this morning I was back down to 162 and the bloat is suddenly gone.
