SDMB Wine Club: Holy Cow Week 10 Already

I’ve got a killer backache tonight and figured a few glasses of wine was just what the Dr. ordered. Until the Dr. actually orders something tomorrow.
So I opened up the Moulin-a-Vent I had on the rack.

Specifically a 2003 Domaine Desperrier Pere & Fils Cuvee des Greneriers.

I’ve had this wine before, which is why it was on the rack to begin with.

It has some of the same qualities as the Brouilly, just a bit more intense. More plum, more wood - oak specifically, and a hint of camphor. It’s more supple in the mouth, with a little more weight, a longer, woodsier finish, and it’s a bit richer in color.

18 bucks a bottle in this neck of the woods, and very, very worth it.

I think I’ll take the rest of the bottle up with me for a nice soak in the tub.
