On a more serious note, I was trying to decide what it was that irks me so much about all these threads, and I think I’ve figured it out. The OPs aren’t discussion openers, and the threads almost never generate discussions. They’re survey questions, and they tend to get a couple of posters “filling out the survey”, and that’s it. It’s the same reason I generally avoid “What’s your favorite…?” threads, but at leat those are relatively rare and generally contained to a single topic.
