If people actually debate the topic than I’m perfectly fine with that. When people start attacking the person is when I have a problem with the tactic. Far too often false motives are assigned to the poster when the motive of the poster is, in fact, completely irrelevant. Either the the post makes sense or it does not. There actually shouldn’t be any place for personal attacks on a forum that has any pretense of providing a place to debate contentious topics. Disguising a personal attack as an attack of the post is also transparently disingenuous as well even if it’s explicitly allowed except for the most egregious cases. ---
