# Search engine weirdness.

I just did a search on my own posts using the “search” icon at the bottom of one of my posts. For some reason, [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=101682) was not on the page of results. I also did a search using the “Search” icon at the top of the page. I set it on “MPSIMS,” “5 days ago” and my name. That thread still did not appear, but every other MPSIMS thread where I have posted did appear.

I recently ran into a similar search engine mis-match for this poster.
The poster’s profile shows 3 threads:

A search of all the poster’s threads gives 9 threads:
[Search results](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/search.php?query=&forumchoice=&booleanand=&searchin=&searchdate=900&searchdateline=&searchuser=Recherch%E9&exactname=yes&action=dosearch&getdaily=&pagenum=)

And the odd thing is that the posters posts don’t actually appear on those threads.
