Search has been temporarily disabled as I attempt to determine the effect it is having on server performance. MySQL database parameters will need to be adjusted as well and I’m working on that.

Search has been re-enabled. I did not note any real difference in message board performance with it enable or disabled.

Using the quick search dropdown box got me the following message:

Using the advanced search page to search by username works fine, though searching by keyword just returns you to the search page.

A second for Grim’s message- I was just coming here to tell about that.

I thought that searching by keyword was just taking me back to the page, but later I figured out that it might have been that I was doing two searches in a row and the sorry-you-need-to-wait message failed to come back.

In any case, I was able to use advanced search with a keyword earlier this evening.

Also, while viewing a thread or any page other than the main forum index and (for some reason) the Create-A-Post™ page the drop down doesn’t show up at all when you click search or the arrow. Now that I try it, Quick Links doesn’t either.
