On the topic of the OP, Si Amigo, I just looked through my last CD of old scans from trips (including a disc I bought at the Louvre last time) and can’t find the work you’re interested in. If you ever find a copy, let me know.
Una Person, thanks for all your effort. You’ve really taken this one to heart and I’m impressed. And thanks to** capybara** as well for helping me along with my search. I’m still searching but have gotten a couple of better quality scans so far. I’ll re-post when my search is finally done.
Here is a better online copy (still only 90K):
I also found that you can “Commande reproduction et/ou conditions d’utilisation” from the Louvre here:
http://www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistral/joconde_fr?ACTION=RETROUVER&FIELD_98=ECOL&VALUE_98=Italie%20&NUMBER=71&GRP=134&REQ=((Italie)%20%3AECOL%20)&USRNAME=nobody&USRPWD=4%24%2534P&SPEC=1&SYN=1&IMLY=&MAX1=1&MAX2=1&MAX3=100&DOM=All
I sent them an email request tonight, depending on the size of the photo I’ll either buy it or keep looking. I’m looking to get something I can make into an 17"X11" print.
While not the best Madonna and Child painting at Louvre, the subject matter struck a cord with me. The baby Jesus pointing up towards God, while the Madonna is gesturing towards God’s message is just awesome to view in person. Interesting enough on the subject of copyrights the Latin at the bottom of the painting roughly translates into “God is the Ultimate Judge”.
