# Searching the Location field: Can it be done? If not can it be added in the future?

There are various times when it would be handy to be able to search the location field. I do not think it can be done currently and I was hoping it could be added to the list of changes after the VB upgrade.

It’s not currently part of the search criteria; this is doubtless because vB also has a member list function. You could probably search through location from the member list if we allowed it to be accessed, but due to privacy and spamming concerns we have turned that off.

Never can tell what future upgrades of vB might give us in terms of increased functionality so I won’t say never, just that it’s not happening right now.
